Everyone needs that certain friend, you know? Like just someone who lives close, or something, so they can just come over whenever they want. Someone who can play video games with, and just generally relax around and not give a damn. A friend who just spends a night too, and doesn’t blow you off constantly like a douche. Someone who you can go to the gym, and just work out with. Someone who matches you in awesomeness and awkwardness. Also someone who is taking honors/AP classes too, and you can study with; where you can push each other to get higher grades and stuff. That friend who 50 years from now, who will still be chilling with you whenever and wherever.
I’m going to be a senior and I don’t have a friend like this. My whole high school life has been me pretending there is that friend there, pushing me, making me motivated, etc. In reality it’s just me, and only me. I don’t really have a best friend. This sucks right about now upon reflection.
- Holden Caulfield: Hey I just met you
- Holden Caulfield: and this is crazy
- Holden Caulfield: but anyway, I keep picturing all these little kids playing some game in this big field of rye and all. Thousands of little kids, and nobody's around - nobody big, I mean - except me. And I'm standing on the edge of some crazy cliff. What I have to do, I have to catch everybody if they start to go over the cliff - I mean if they're running and they don't look where they're going I have to come out from somewhere and catch them. That's all I do all day. I'd just be the catcher in the rye and all. I know it's crazy, but that's the only thing I'd really like to be.
- Holden Caulfield: so don't even call me, you're a phony
